How do you setup and run a community garden? Hear about the lessons learned from two inspiring community garden projects: one in Dublin city centre and the other in rural Co. Clare.

We will start with a talking tour of the NCAD Community Garden on Thomas Street, hosted by Rian Coulter and Fabian Strunden. There we will harvest some of the produce from the garden and all head over to the Fumbally Stables (a ten minute walk).

At the Stables, Matt Smith and Fergal Smith from Moy Hill Community Garden will talk from their perspective about what community is, how to succeed in keeping it going, and the lessons learned overcoming challenges in setting up Moy Hill.

Meanwhile a chef will work with what you have harvested from Thomas Street, along with some fresh veg from brought up from Moy Hill, to create a dish for everyone to share.
